Mediamatch by Pressto
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026
1. Who we are
Pressto Pty Ltd (ABN 11 664 389 468) ("Pressto", "we", "us", "our") operates Mediamatch, a mobile app that helps journalists publish callouts and connect with verified subject-matter experts. Our registered office is in Australia.
This policy applies only to Mediamatch (the iOS and Android apps, the journalist directory in those apps, and the Mediamatch APIs behind them). It does not cover the separate Pressto AI PR platform, which has its own Privacy Policy and billing terms.
Questions: contact@heypressto.ai.
2. Who Mediamatch is for
Mediamatch is a professional product for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or use the signed-in features. We do not knowingly collect account data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
3. Information we collect
Account and profile
- Name, email address, headline, company, role, location, bio, and selected topics.
- Optional profile photo and optional press-ready headshot.
- For journalists: outlet, beats, pitching preferences, and public profile fields you choose to show.
- We sign you in with a one-time email code or magic link. We do not store a password for Mediamatch.
Verification
- Evidence links you submit (bylines, employer pages, and similar URLs) and notes you attach to them.
- If you connect LinkedIn, we receive the identity signal LinkedIn returns (typically name, profile URL, and whether the account is connected). We use this to assess verification, not as a social login for the app.
Content you create
- Callouts, expert responses, chat messages, meeting details you schedule (title, time, timezone, join link), and drafts.
- Reports you file about other users or content, including the reason and any details you add.
Device and diagnostics
- Push notification tokens and platform (iOS or Android) so we can send alerts you opt into.
- Crash and error diagnostics through Sentry (stack traces, device type, app version). We do not send message bodies, photos, or session tokens to Sentry.
- Basic app-function logs such as which API route failed, so we can fix outages.
Journalist directory (including people who have never used the app)
Mediamatch includes a public directory of journalists and outlets. Many listings are compiled from publicly available journalism: published articles, bylines, outlet sites, and similar public sources. A listing can exist before the journalist creates a Mediamatch account.
Directory fields may include name, outlet, role, location, topics, public social or website links, a photo when one is publicly available or later uploaded, and article history we have indexed. We do not publish a journalist's private email in the directory by default.
If a listing is about you and should not appear, use Request profile removal in the app, or email contact@heypressto.ai. We review removal requests and will take down or correct listings that should not remain public.
4. How we use this information
- To create and run your account, including sign-in codes and session security.
- To match experts with relevant callouts and to show journalists the responses they received.
- To score expert responses with an automated quality check so journalists can skip low-signal replies. You can still send a response after a failed check.
- To operate chat and meeting scheduling after a journalist accepts a response.
- To send the push notifications you enable (matched callouts, decisions, chat, and similar events).
- To verify expertise, prevent abuse, and review reports.
- To operate the public directory and to handle removal requests.
- To diagnose crashes and keep the app working.
- To comply with law and to protect Pressto, users, and the public.
Mediamatch does not sell your personal information. The app has no in-app purchases and does not process card payments. Stripe billing described on the Pressto AI site applies to that product only.
5. How we share information
Sharing inside Mediamatch is the product. Journalists see expert profiles and responses on their callouts. Experts see the journalist and brief attached to a callout. After a journalist accepts a response, both sides see the chat thread and any meeting details either person posts.
We may also share data with:
- Infrastructure providers that host the app and files.
- LinkedIn, only if you choose to connect it for verification.
- Expo / Apple / Google push services, to deliver notifications you enabled.
- Sentry, for crash diagnostics as described above.
- AI processors that score verification evidence and response quality, under our processing terms.
- Authorities when required by law.
6. Retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active. If you delete your account in Settings, we delete or anonymise personal account data within 90 days, except where we must keep a record (for example, a report of abuse, or a legal hold).
Journalist directory entries that came from public coverage may remain as a public listing after a claimed account is deleted, without login access or private contact details. You can still ask us to remove that listing.
7. Your choices
- Update your profile in the app.
- Turn off notifications in the system settings, or skip the in-app prompt.
- Disconnect LinkedIn by contacting us if the in-app control is unavailable.
- Report content or block another user from their profile, a callout, a response, or a chat thread.
- Request removal of a public directory listing.
- Request removal of specific data without closing the account, using the data deletion form.
- Delete your Mediamatch account in Settings, or request deletion on the web. This cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. To delete a Mediamatch account, use the deletion request form. To remove specific data and keep the account, use the data deletion form. For other requests, email contact@heypressto.ai. We aim to respond within 30 days.
8. International transfers
Pressto is based in Australia. Servers and vendors may process data in Australia and the United States. If you use Mediamatch from elsewhere, your information may be processed in those countries. We take steps consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and hashed one-time codes rather than passwords. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted in the app or on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
